Roanoke PTG March meeting

Virtual via Zoom

We will have a short business meeting followed by a class by Dan Levitan entitled: The Tuner’s Hand.

This is a live, hands-on exploration of the dynamics of stable pin setting with both L-shaped and C-shaped tuning hammers. All class participants should have on hand a paper clip—preferably, a jumbo (50mm) rather than the standard #1 (30mm) size—and a pair of vise grips pliers—preferably, the standard size (5 1/2"), but the junior size (4 1/2") will also work.

Welcome!

This site represents the Roanoke Chapter (#240) of the Piano Technician's Guild

If you are a visiting piano technician, piano enthusiast or just an interested web-surfer, welcome! Feel free to look around, and if we can help you in any way, please let us know.

The PTG is the largest nonprofit organization serving piano tuners, technicians, and craftsmen throughout the world, organized to promote the highest possible service and technical standards among piano tuners and technicians. The PTG sponsors meetings, seminars, workshops and conventions, and publishes a monthly technical magazine, the Piano Technicians Journal, which features a wealth of technical information ranging from useful hints to in-depth instruction on tuning, repairing and rebuilding.

The Roanoke Chapter exists to provide a forum for those individuals who have a professional or avocational interest in piano technology, to promote the achievement of the highest technical standards, and to promote and improve the piano service industry and its members.  The Roanoke Chapter's geographical area covers all of southwest Virginia, including Lynchburg, Bedford, Covington, and the New River Valley.

Our members can reach our private forum here as well as from our links page.
